The magazine "The Dorf" provides information about events, locations
and extraordinary personalities from
Düsseldorf. When I started this project,
the online presence of the magazine
was already impressive. But a print
edition of it did not exist yet. So in
a team, we started to design a print magazine for all sorts of personal-
ities in Düsseldorf. Whether you are
a creative, single, familial or romantic
kind of person, in this magazine you'll
find everything you need to know about
your city according to your preferences.
Roland Barthes
A Lover's Discourse: Fragments

Roland Barthes wrote his book as a glossary of love. I worked with two of Roland Barthes’ fragments as a pair of opposites in order to relate them to each other: volubility and silence. As a stylistic device for the design of the book I used abstract body scans in correspondence with typography.
